Takla Makan VS Egypt
Mummies have been found all over the world, probably the most well known and well researched are the Egyptian mummies. The Takla Makan mummies are a more a more recent discovery with many things yet to be discovered about them. There are a number of diferances between the two that are already evedant.

The Egyptian mummies were mummified by use of natron and other salts to draw out moisture. They were treated in a precise and well practised manner. The organs removed
and stored separately. The body embalmed and than wrapped. The Takla Makan mummies were mummified by the naturally occurring conditions of the desert. The bodies were "freeze dried" by the low moisture and alkalinity of the sand in which they were found.
The Egyptian mummies were buried with everything they would need for the afterlife, food, wine, slaves and gold. The Takla Makan mummies were buried with very little. Some had clothes and hats with them, the significance of this is unkown. A baby was found with a bottle made from a sheep's udder.
The Egyptian mummies were buried in tombs and pyramids for the pharoahs. with many religious artefacts also, such as scrolls with spells from the book of the dead is placed between the wrapped hands.
